As part of the second phase of their "20 years of Placebo" tour, in which they celebrate their two decades as a band and that has already taken them to Europe and the United States, Placebo will perform on April 27th at Razzmatazz in Barcelona, two days later at the WiZink Center in Madrid and on May 4 in Granada at the Palacio de Deportes. As part of the tour's promotional campaign, the band will invite their fans to find the 20 different posters of each concert, which will be unveiled little by little both online and physically. In addition, tickets for the concerts will have two exclusive presales: on Tuesday, December 20, an exclusive presale for the band's fan club for 48 hours and on Wednesday, December 21, another exclusive pre-sale through Spanish music magazine Mondosonoro for 24 hours, which will be limited To the concerts of Madrid and Barcelona. The general sale will be on Thursday, December 22 at Livenation.es or ticketmaster.es with a price of € 38 + fees.
These shows will differ from the norm, as Molko has promised that the band will play quite songs from their back catalogue that don’t normally squeeze onto their setlists. Brian said that: “Let’s just say there will be songs in the set that I’ve sworn never to play again. I think it’s time that we purposefully acknowledged what a lot of Placebo fans really want to hear. They’ve been very patient with us since we rarely play our most commercially successful material. A 20-year anniversary tour seems like the right time to do so. That’s our intention. This tour is very much for the fans and a chance for us to revisit a lot of our early material. So, if you want to see us play songs like ‘Pure Morning’ and ‘Nancy Boy’ which we haven’t played in almost ten years and may not play again, then you’d better come along to these shows! We’ll have some surprises in there too.“
