Just hours after unveiling a new single and announcing the twelfth studio album of their career, Seattle’s Pearl Jam have confirmed a world tour that includes two new shows in Spain.
In a tour that includes only two new cities in Europe, Barcelona and Berlin, Eddie Vedder’s band will perform at the Palau Sant Jordi in Barcelona on Saturday 6th and Monday 8th July, both times with The Murder Capital as opening act. The venue will be the same one that allowed us to enjoy one of the reference bands of the grunge movement 6 years ago, when in 2018 they offered an incredible concert of more than two and a half hours.
The nine-country, 25-city Dark Matter World Tour 2024 kicks off at Rogers Arena in Vancouver, and will span much of North America, including a shows at Seattle’s Climate Pledge Arena, the world’s first net-zero certified arena and their first hometown show in six years. The tour continues with UK and European dates through September, followed by the band’s long-awaited return to New Zealand and Australia in November.
These dates will be supported by special guests Deep Sea Diver or Glen Hansard in North America, The Murder Capital (UK/EU), Richard Ashcroft (Dublin and London) and Pixies (Australia and New Zealand).
In a decision that comes as a surprise given their past activism against abusive ticket prices, tickets for Pearl Jam’s two shows in Barcelona will range from €99 to €140, plus booking fees in both cases.
According to Ticketmaster, in order to block bots, reduce resale and get more tickets directly into the hands of fans who want to attend one of their concerts, you must register in order to access the ticket sales. Ticketmaster until Sunday 18 February at 23h59. Once the registration deadline has passed, buyers will be randomly selected to receive a code that will give them access to the ticket sale, which starts on Friday 23 February at 10:00
