Panda Bear, the solo project fronted by Animal Collective’s Noah Lennox, has today confirmed a new solo album for February 2025 and a world tour for late 2024 and early 2025, with Toro y Moi opening for him in some US and Canadian cities.
The album, entitled Sinister Grift, will be released on 28 February 2025 via Domino and was recorded at the artist’s own studio in Lisbon with fellow Animal Collective member Josh ‘Deakin’ Dibb as co-producer, although the other members of Animal Collective also contributed to the album.
Deakin himself has said that “Working on this album felt like a sacred and warm return. Noah and I first started downloading music onto multitrack tapes in 1991. 32 years later and working in the same way, two friends alone in a room, searching for sounds and feelings that move us, I’m very proud of what we’ve created together. Sinister Grift sounds like the songwriter I’ve known for over 30 years, but also like a new chapter for Noah. I couldn’t be prouder of the result. “.
As for the tour to promote the album, it will be a bit strange because it will be divided into two phases. The first one is planned for the month of December in some European cities, starting in Coimbra (Portugal) on the 4th and going on to the 5th. to Vigo (Radar) and Valladolid (6 December, El Desierto),. while he will return to Europe in March to perform at the following venues, among others, after the US tour resumes in February 2025. In Spain, he will perform in Oviedo (22nd March, Sala Almacenes), Bilbao (23rd March, Kafe Antzokia), Barcelona (25th March, Paral-lel 62), Valencia (26th March, 16 Toneladas) and Madrid (27th March, La Sala).
