My Morning Jacket have announced the release of a new album entitled Is (2025), which will be released on 21 March via ATO and will be the follow-up to their eponymous 2021 album My Morning Jacket. Alongside the announcement of the new album, the Kentucky band have also unveiled the first single, ‘Time Waited‘, with a music video directed by concert photographer Danny Clinch and featuring photos and videos from their live performances.
For the first time, singer and guitarist Jim James has handed over the role of lead producer to renowned producer Brendan O’Brien, who has worked with Bruce Springsteen, Pearl Jam and AC/DC, among others. ‘Up until now I’ve never been able to let go and allow someone else to steer the ship. It almost felt like an out-of-body experience to step back and give control over to someone who’s far more accomplished and made so many more records than us, but in the end I was able to enjoy the process maybe more than I ever have before. ” said James in the press release announcing the album’s release.
