Linkin Park announce their return to the stage with a female singer

6 September 20242 min read

After weeks of rumours, the day has finally come to find out what news Linkin Park have to announce. To give a brief summary, they have announced the release of a new album called From Zero (2024) in November this year and a tour to support it, they have presented their first single ‘The Emptiness Machine‘ and they have surprised us with the addition of a new vocalist, Emily Armstrong, known as the singer of Dead Sara.

When all the rumours pointed to Sum 41’s Deryck Whibley as the new vocalist for this return of Linkin Park, Mike Shinoda’s band surprised everyone by offering a streaming concert with Emily Armstrong on second vocals and Colin Brittain (G Flip) on drums. Shinoda himself said “The more we worked with Emily and Colin, the more we enjoyed their world-class talents, their company, and the things we created. We feel really empowered with this new lineup and the vibrant and energized new music we’ve made together. We’re weaving together the sonic touchpoints we’ve been known for and still exploring new ones“.

Speaking about the album, which will be released on Warner, will contain 11 songs and will be released on 15 November, Mike Shinoda said “Before Linkin Park, our first band name was Xero. This album title refers to both this humble beginning and the journey we’re currently undertaking. Sonically and emotionally, it is about the past, present and future – with our signature sound, but new and full of life. It was created with deep appreciation for our new and long-standing bandmates, our friends, our family and our fans. We are proud of what LINKIN-PARK has become over the years and am excited about the journey ahead”.

Finally, the Californian band has confirmed a small world tour for the coming weeks that will include the cities of Los Angeles, New York, Hamburg, London, Seoul and Bogota. The pre-sale of tickets starts today, September 6th for Linkin Park Underground fan club members, while the general sale will be tomorrow, September 7th, both at LinkinPark.com.
