Damon Albarn confirms the new Gorillaz album in an interview with Les Inrockuptibles

After Blur’s that has left us with a new album The Ballad of Darren (2023) and a big world tour with memorable concerts like the one at Primavera Sound 2023, Damon Albarn has confirmed that in 2025 we will enjoy new material from Gorillaz again.

In an interview with French media Les Inrockuptibles, the English singer has stated that there will be a Gorillaz album this year and hinted that it could be ready in just over a month and a half. He also talked about ‘The Magic Flute II: La Malédiction‘, a kind of electronic sequel to Mozart‘s ‘The Magic Flute‘, based on a fragment of a libretto written by Goethe, which he has been working on for some time and which will premiere this weekend at the Théâtre du Lido in Paris.. These are my plans and I think they are enough for 2025, unless someone accuses me of taking my foot off the accelerator… says the British singer sarcastically in the interview.
