Franz Ferdinand announce new album and plans to tour in 2025

11 September 20242 min read

We were surprised by the announcement from Scottish band Franz Ferdinand, who today confirmed the release of their new album The Human Fear (2024) on 10 January via Domino. The album will be the first to feature new members Dino Bardot (guitar) and Audrey Tait (drums), recorded at AYR Studios in Scotland and produced by Mark Ralph, who worked with the Scots on one of their most successful albums, Right Thoughts, Right Words, Right Action (2013).

In the words of vocalist Alex Kapranos, “Making this record was one of the most life-affirming experiences I’ve had in my life, but it’s called The Human Fear, fear reminds you that you’re alive. I think we are all in some way addicted to the rush it gives us. The way we respond to it is what makes us human. So here are a handful of songs that explore the thrill of being human through fear. ».

As part of the launch of this new album, the Scottish band have announced a world tour that will kick off in just over two weeks time with three shows in small venues in Scotland, followed by Mexico (supporting The Killers), South America and Europe in February and March 2025. Three dates have been confirmed for Spain: On the 15th of February 2025 at the Sala Pelícano in A Coruña, on the 17th of February at La Riviera in Madrid and on the 18th of February at the Sala Razzmatazz in Barcelona. Tickets for these concerts will go on sale on Friday 20 September at 10:00am through Livenation, Ticketmaster and El Corte Inglés, with prices starting at 40€ (+ booking fee). Two days before, there will be a pre-sale for Santander Music users, and on the 19th there will also be a resale for registered users of Livenation.

We can already listen to the first single from the album called ‘Audacious’:
