SEXWITCH, the project that has emerged from the collaboration between Bat For Lashes, producer Dan Carey, and British band TOY has just launched their self-titled debut. The LP, that will be released this Friday (September 25) via Echo/BMG, is available the whole thing on streaming thanks to British newspaper via The Guardian.
The album, which we already had heard the singles "Helelyos" and "Ha Howa Ha Howa", comes after the collaboration in 2013 between Natasha (aka Bat for Lashes) and TOY for a cover of "The Bride" by Iranian Amir Rassaei. From there on, SEXWITCH's album features six covers of songs by artists from different countries as Iran, Morocco, Thailand or the great Skip Spence's cover "War In Peace". All the tracks were recorded live in the studio, while Natasha Khan had herself translated the lyrics to English with the help of some friends.
